Feasibility Studies:
A Cummings Co. Feasibility Study is an objective survey conducted by fund-raising counsel among select leaders of a nonprofit. The Study helps ascertain the attitudes and perceptions of the organization's leadership toward the nonprofit, toward a contemplated major fund-raising effort, and helps to determine a realistic fund-raising potential.
The Study assumes that most of the gift income in a major campaign is generated from a relatively small number of the donors. So the interview criteria focuses on a select number of individuals of "affluence and influence" among the nonprofit’s constituency.
A viable Study requires on the part of fund-raising counsel objectivity and careful collaboration with the nonprofit in formulating an interview list, well-executed face-to-face interviews (at times the telephone and mail may be used on a selective basis), sound evaluation and comprehensive documentation. A Cummings Co. Report is thorough and candidly contains specific findings, conclusions and recommendations.
We believe that our objective and well executed Studies reflect the very best of philanthropic counsel and can be of immense value to a nonprofit in its preliminary stage for major fund-raising.
